I renamed it and then edited with note pad. Nothing changed do I also have to down load a font file and put into the file that I save the theme to? If so where can I get it. If I did everything right then I will wait till Version 3. Thanks for the help.

This is what it could look like with the radar...
Idea is that when you toggle between the two one appears to shrink.

Here is the font file you need, and I stretched the blue scheme to 480x360 for the Tour. (quick stretchy job, nothing fancy)
Just drop the two files together in a dir and point the compass config at it.

That's very nice, I think it will be good to have both on the same screen.. I've been working on the Native SVG stuff this weekend, the first beta with this will have the separate displays but ultimately I will combine them for OS 4.6 or better.

I think it'd be good to have one for each with the possibility of having radar on compass (and vice versa). That way we can put a very simple compass on the older devices and the more fancy designs on the new more performant ones.

I agree, let me know what other customization options you'd like (eg. special formatting for values etc), the native SVG also allows for multiple fonts without blowing out memory.. I'll put together a list of available default fonts.

I tried this on my Tour 9630 and it almost worked. However the compass screen display is shifted down by about 1/5 of the screen so there is a white strip at the top and the bottom is cut off. Any ideas?

I'm new to BlackBerry and new to CacheBerry. I downloaded the theme and placed it on my BB Bold in a new directory that I created on the SD Card. But I can't get it working. In CacheBerry I opened Options | GPS Compass and browsed for the Theme folder. Path is file:///SDCard/BlackBerry/CacheBerry/Themes/ I left the file name at Compass_480x320.svg when I copied it. Oh, and I did turn on Custom Theme. Finally I saved it but, when I call up the compass I still see the default. Suggestions?

Edit: Whoops, never mind. I had only read the first page of this thread before posting. Once I downloaded the font file it works fine.

The theme as it is won't work with CB v2.5. I haven't had time lately to change it to native svg.

hi esim66,

Here's a screenshot of the new default compass (designed by my talented brother) It uses png layers as well as SVG to achieve a 3D look and still works at >15 frames/sec. I will look into what I need to add to allow images to be loaded in a custom theme as it is a great way to work around the lack of gradient support in SVG Tiny.
